For quite a while now I have been contemplating starting up my own Virtual Assistant business so that I can work from home. I figure this will give me more flexibility to go with my husband when he's travelling around the country for work and I'm hoping that this will give me the basis to keep bringing in some income once my husband and I decide to have kids.
I've got the skills and determination but I have to say I'm a little fuzzy on the 'how to' when starting something like this up.
So what I would like is some help from the wide world out there in regards to what I have to do legally to make sure my business is legit? Do I have to be GST registered? Can I just start and sort out these details later? Can I just advertise myself as a contractor and just start invoicing?? Help everyone!
